How does the recipient receive and use the virtual Visa or Mastercard?
It’s a simple 3-step process:
- The recipient receives the reward payment email with a link to claim and register their prepaid card.
- Once the recipient completes their prepaid card registration, their Visa® or Mastercard Prepaid Card number is ready for immediate use.
- Recipients have the option to create a Digital Wallet to secure and easily access their Visa® or Mastercard number.
In which countries is virtual Visa NOT accepted?
Virtual Visa works in over 150 countries around the world. However, there are a few countries where virtual Visa and/or virtual Mastercard are not accepted.
Examples of countries that may be excluded are Bahamas, Barbados, Belarus, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, Chad, Colombia, Comoros, Congo (Brazzaville), Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Laos, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Myanmar (Burma), Nicaragua, North Korea, Panama, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Uganda, Ukraine, Venezuela, Yemen, Zimbabwe.

In what currency is virtual Visa and Mastercard issued?
We offer the Visa® Prepaid Card in US Dollars (USD) and Canadian Dollars (CAD). We also offer the Mastercard Prepaid Card in Euros (EUR) and British Pounds (GBP). All Visa® and Mastercard Prepaid Cards work in an identical fashion. Purchases are made in the local currency and automatically converted to the currency of issue by the prepaid card issuer.
Can virtual Visa or MasterCard be used in stores?
The USD MasterCard can be added to mobile phones that support Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay. Once added to a mobile wallet, the rewards can be used for in-store purchases.
Are there expiration dates?
Virtual Visa/MasterCards always have an expiry date. Depending on the type of Visa/MasterCard you choose, its value may expire 6 months to 12 months from the date of issue. It is important to note that the value of the card cannot be accessed unless the card was claimed and registered. Recipients have 3 months to register and redeem the delivered promo code for a prepaid Visa/Mastercard. After that, recipients have 6 to 12 months to spend the balance on the prepaid card.
Most egift card brands have no expiration date unless stated in the specific terms for a given brand. However, since every brand is different, recipients should refer to their eGift card’s specific terms and conditions for more details.
Are there purchase restrictions?
Visa® and Mastercard Prepaid Cards cannot be used for recurring fees (for example: subscription purchases).
Unless a merchant offers a ‘split-tender’ the total order must be equal or less than the card balance including taxes, fees and shipping if applicable.
Should I use a Visa or Mastercard Prepaid Card?
All Visa and Mastercard Prepaid Cards work in an identical fashion. Your choice will largely be decided by the currency in which you want to issue the reward.

How does 100% refund on unclaimed gifts work?
Rybbon allows you to set a window within which a gift can be claimed. If a recipient does not claim their gift during this period, Rybbon automatically issues a 100% refund for the gift value and credits the funds to your Rybbon account so that you can easily apply them towards another campaign. This unique benefit is complimentary for all of Rybbon’s users. Our customers love this perk as it leads to huge cost savings and ensures their budget is being used effectively!
What if I end up needing fewer gifts than I ordered?
You can simply return them with one-click for a 100% refund. Rybbon is super flexible like that!
Can I upgrade to an Annual Plan at a later time?
Yes. You are welcome to get started with our On-Demand plan. It takes minutes to set up and you can start delivering rewards instantly. When you are ready, reach out and we can upgrade your account to an Annual Plan tailored to your needs. Depending on your reward volume, it may be more cost-effective to be on an Annual Plan. Is there a minimum volume purchase requirement?
In most cases, you can purchase as few or as many rewards as you need. Visa and Mastercard are exceptions and do have minimum annual volume requirements.
How does payment work?
All orders are processed after we receive payment. To ensure smooth and timely order processing, we recommend pre-funding your Rybbon account via bank transfer (either ACH or wire). US corporate credits cards may also be accepted on a case-to-case basis and are subject to a 3% processing fee. For security reasons, credit card approval is at Rybbon’s discretion and may include purchase limits.
Do you provide invoices and receipts?
Yes. Invoices and receipts are automatically provided for every order. Receipts are also provided when you put funds into your account in advance (pre-funding) for immediate order processing.
